Healthcare infrastructure in Hurghada is undergoing a significant transformation, with both public and private sector investments adding new hospital capacity, specialist clinics, and emergency medical services across the city. For property buyers, particularly those targeting the family and retiree segments, this expansion represents a critical quality-of-life upgrade.

New Hospital Projects

A new 200-bed private hospital near the intersection of Village Road and the airport corridor received its final approvals in early 2025, with construction expected to complete in 2027. A second facility, a 150-bed specialised cardiac and orthopaedic centre, is planned for the Al Ahyaa corridor, serving the growing communities between Hurghada and El Gouna.

The Ministry of Health has also announced the expansion of the existing Hurghada General Hospital, adding 100 beds and a new emergency wing. These additions will increase the city's total bed capacity by approximately 40% when all projects are completed.

Specialist and Expat Services

Several new private clinics offering specialist services have opened in 2025, including cardiology, orthopaedics, paediatrics, and obstetrics. English and German-speaking medical staff are increasingly available, reflecting the growing expat patient base. A new medical complex near Senzo Mall will house multiple specialist practices under one roof.

Quality healthcare access has gone from a concern to a competitive advantage for Hurghada. The new hospital capacity will be a major factor in attracting European retirees to the Red Sea market.

Impact on Property Market

Real estate agents report that healthcare access has become a top-three consideration for European buyers over 50. Properties within a 10-minute drive of major medical facilities command a premium, and new developments increasingly market proximity to healthcare as a key selling point.
